Rainbow Connection Counseling Collective is a growing group practice serving communities of gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity (GSRD) — LGBTQ+, kink, fetish, polyamory and other forms of non-monogamy/relationship diversity, sex workers — as well as BIPOC communities. We’re looking for therapists who want to serve these clients in a non-judgmental, open, decolonized, and affirming way.
The Role

Our ideal candidate has specialized knowledge, training, and passion for working with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities — and is eager to learn and use business and marketing strategies to succeed in a private practice setting.
Caseload: Clinicians work toward building a caseload of 17–22 weekly sessions (17 client hours per week is the minimum full time requirement). All clinicians begin part-time (less than 17 client hours a week), with the expectation of reaching full-time status (17+ client hours per week) within 6 months of hire.
Clients are private pay and out-of-network. This is a remote position open to California residents only.

Compensation
Paid for every hour you work.
All clinicians are W-2 employees and are paid for all hours worked.

Additional benefits depend on full-time status and on completing 12 months of employment.
Everyone starts part-time, with full-time status (17+ client hours per week) expected within 6 months.

Qualifications
Who should apply.
Lived experience and earned wisdom count here, alongside your clinical training.
Associate clinicians
- Current registration in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT)
Licensed clinicians
- Current, active California license as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Or licensed as a Psychologist through the California Board of Psychology
All clinicians
- California residency
- Specialized knowledge, training, and passion for working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Lived experience and earned wisdom are a plus.
- Specialized knowledge, training, and passion for working with kink/BDSM and polyamory/ethical non-monogamy. Lived experience and earned wisdom are highly encouraged.
- Experience and additional training in relationship therapy (EFT, Gottman, IBCT, etc.), LGBTQ+ counseling, and multicultural counseling are highly recommended.
- Advanced training in sex therapy principles and interventions, including AASECT or other sex therapy training, is highly recommended.

About referrals: clinician profiles are included on our website and on various online directories. Some cross-referrals are expected but not guaranteed, so professional networking is required to help build your referral network.
Responsibilities
What the work looks like.
You’ll see clients, keep your charting current, and take an active part in growing your own caseload — with the practice covering your networking and marketing costs.
- Meet with adult individuals and relationships for outpatient psychotherapy in line with your training and areas of expertise
- Complete intake notes, progress notes, and scheduling after each session, and enter session billing in the practice’s EHR (all client payments are made directly to RCCC)
- Complete charting on the same day the service is provided
- Attend regular team meetings, plus up to 2 in-person networking events or a minimum of 5 hours of online marketing each week (Facebook marketing and networking included)
- Be self-driven in marketing yourself and proactive in finding clients
- Reach full-time status of 17+ client hours per week within 6 months of employment
