Affirming therapy
for all Californians
LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Asian American affirming online therapy across California — Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Oakland, and beyond. No code-switching. No explaining yourself. Just care that meets you where you are.
California's LGBTQ+
community deserves
more than allyship
California is home to one of the largest and most diverse LGBTQ+ communities in the world — yet affirming, culturally competent mental health care remains hard to find. Too many LGBTQ+ and BIPOC Californians still sit across from therapists who treat queerness as a footnote, or who ask their BIPOC clients to educate them mid-session. They deserve a place where all of them can be seen and understood
At Rainbow Connection Counseling Collective, our therapists are LGBTQ+ and BIPOC identifying — bringing lived experience alongside rigorous clinical training. Whether you're in Los Angeles navigating the pressures of a high-visibility queer life, in San Francisco processing stressors around work, or anywhere across California seeking care that honors your whole self — we’re here for you.
We offer 100% telehealth therapy across California, meaning you can access affirming care from your home, your car, or wherever you feel safest — without the commute, the waiting room, or the exhausting performance of being "presentable."
Affirming mental health care
across all of life's challenges
Evidence-based, identity-affirming therapy for the full spectrum of mental health and relationship needs — available to all Californians via telehealth.
Serving LGBTQ+ Californians
from every corner of the state
Because we're 100% telehealth, geography is never a barrier to affirming care. We serve clients across all of California.
All sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant telehealth. As long as you are in California during your session, we can work together — whether you're in a city, a suburb, a rural community, or anywhere in between.
Not just affirming —
deeply, genuinely inclusive
California has more therapists than almost anywhere in the country. Here's why LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients keep choosing Rainbow Connection Counseling Collective.
Lived Identity, Not Just Training
Our therapist is LGBTQ+ and BIPOC identifying. You won't spend session time explaining what it's like to be queer, to navigate family dynamics as a person of color, or to feel the weight of minority stress. We already know — and we build from there.
No Code-Switching Required
Bring your slang, your community references, your cultural context. RCCC is a space where you can be your full, unedited self without worrying about making your therapist comfortable.
Intersectional by Design
We hold race, sexuality, gender, culture, and family systems all at once — because your identities don't exist in separate boxes, and neither should your therapy. We treat the whole person, not isolated symptoms.
Accessible Across California
100% telehealth with flexible scheduling means you can access affirming care whether you're in downtown LA or a rural Central Valley town. Geography should never be a barrier to getting the support you deserve.
Common questions from
California clients
Answers to the questions we hear most often from LGBTQ+ and BIPOC Californians considering therapy.
Yes — all sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant telehealth, which means we can work with any client located in California during their session. Whether you're in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Oakland, Riverside, Fresno, Palm Springs, or any other city or community in the state, geography is never a barrier to accessing care. The only requirement is that you are physically present in California at the time of your session.
Yes. All of our clinicians are licensed in CA, and are subject to the California Board of Behavioral Sciences’ oversight. All sessions meet California's telehealth requirements and comply with California law.
Yes, we accept Cigna only. During your free consultation, we'll discuss your specific insurance situation and help you understand your coverage. We also offer self-pay options and can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. — reach out here or call 619.363.4674.
Many therapists in California identify as "LGBTQ+ affirming" — but affirmation isn't the same as deep understanding. At RCCC, our therapists are LGBTQ+ and BIPOC identifying, meaning clients get to have therapy with a therapist who walks the walk, not just talks the talk. We specialize in the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity, racial identity, and cultural background — a combination that remains genuinely rare, even in California. We also offer sex therapy with an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, which distinguishes us from most general LGBTQ+ therapists in the State.
Yes. As a licensed clinician in California, Harry can provide clinical letters of support for gender-affirming hormone therapy, gender-affirming surgery, and legal name or gender marker changes. California has some of the most accessible legal processes for gender marker changes in the United States, and we can provide guidance through those processes as well. We approach these letters from an affirming, informed consent framework — not a gatekeeping one. Learn more about gender-affirming letters here.
Absolutely. California is home to one of the largest Asian American populations in the country, and RCCC is deeply committed to serving AAPI clients. Harry brings both lived experience as an Asian American and specialized clinical training to address the unique mental health challenges Asian American Californians face — including intergenerational trauma, racial trauma, model minority myth pressure, family dynamics shaped by cultural silence, and the intersection of AAPI identity with LGBTQ+ experience. We work with clients across diverse Asian communities including Chinese American, Filipino American, Vietnamese American, Korean American, Japanese American, South Asian American, and multiracial Asian clients throughout California.
The easiest way to start is to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
