Affirming therapy
for all New Yorkers
LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Asian American affirming online therapy across New York — NYC, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and beyond. No code-switching. No explaining yourself. Just care that meets you where you are.
We're here for
New York's LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities
New York City is the birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement — and yet finding affirming, culturally competent mental health care can still be an exhausting search. The city has thousands of therapists, but too many LGBTQ+ and BIPOC New Yorkers still end up explaining themselves, educating their clinician, or sitting with someone who treats their identity as a clinical curiosity rather than a lived reality.
At Rainbow Connection Counseling Collective, our therapists are LGBTQ+ and BIPOC identifying — bringing lived experience alongside rigorous clinical training. Whether you're in Brooklyn navigating queer community dynamics, in Queens as part of a multigenerational immigrant family, in the Bronx, or anywhere across New York State — we're here.
We offer 100% telehealth therapy across New York, meaning you can access affirming care from your apartment, your office, or wherever you feel safest — without the commute or the waiting room.
Affirming mental health care
across all of life's challenges
Evidence-based, identity-affirming therapy for the full spectrum of mental health and relationship needs — available to all New Yorkers via telehealth.
Serving LGBTQ+ New Yorkers
from every corner of the state
Because we're 100% telehealth, geography is never a barrier to affirming care. We serve clients across all of New York.
All sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant telehealth. As long as you are in New York State during your session, we can work together — whether you're in NYC, the suburbs, upstate, or anywhere in between.
Not just affirming —
deeply, genuinely inclusive
New York has more therapists per capita than almost anywhere in the country. Here's why LGBTQ+ and BIPOC New Yorkers keep choosing Rainbow Connection Counseling Collective.
Lived Identity, Not Just Training
Our therapists are LGBTQ+ and BIPOC identifying. You won't spend session time explaining what it's like to be queer, to navigate family dynamics as a person of color, or to feel the weight of minority stress. We already know — and we build from there.
No Code-Switching Required
Bring your slang, your community references, your cultural context. RCCC is a space where you can be your full, unedited self without worrying about making your therapist comfortable.
NY-Licensed & New York–Fluent
Our clinicians hold New York State LMHC licenses and understand the cultural landscape for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC New Yorkers — from the complexity of immigrant family dynamics in Queens to the high-pressure creative world of Manhattan.
Accessible Across New York
100% telehealth with flexible scheduling means no commute, no waiting rooms, and no geographic barrier — whether you're in a Manhattan high-rise or a small upstate town. You deserve care that works around your life.
Common questions from
New York clients
Answers to the questions we hear most often from LGBTQ+ and BIPOC New Yorkers considering therapy.
Yes — all sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant telehealth, which means we can work with any client located in New York State during their session. Whether you're in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, or anywhere else in the state, geography is never a barrier to accessing care. The only requirement is that you are physically present in New York at the time of your session.
Yes. We have clinicians who are New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC), issued by the New York State Education Department. They are fully authorized to provide telehealth therapy to clients located anywhere in New York. We also have clinicians licensed in California, Washington, and Oregon, making us one of a small number of practices licensed across all four states.
Yes, we accept Cigna only. During your free consultation, we'll discuss your specific insurance situation and help you understand your coverage. We also offer self-pay options and can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement — reach out here or call 619.363.4674.
New York has thousands of therapists who identify as "LGBTQ+ affirming" — but affirmation isn't the same as deep understanding. At RCCC, our therapists are LGBTQ+ and BIPOC identifying, meaning clients get to have therapy with a therapist who walks the walk, not just talks the talk. We specialize in the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity, racial identity, and cultural background — including the specific dynamics of immigrant families, multigenerational households, and AAPI experience in New York. We also offer sex therapy with an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, which distinguishes us from most general LGBTQ+ therapists in New York.
Yes. As licensed New York clinicians, we can provide clinical letters of support for gender-affirming hormone therapy, gender-affirming surgery, and legal name or gender marker changes. New York has made significant strides in making gender marker changes more accessible, and we can provide guidance through those processes as well. We approach these letters from an affirming, informed consent framework — not a gatekeeping one. Learn more about gender-affirming letters here.
Absolutely. New York City is home to one of the largest Asian American populations in the world — from Flushing and Jackson Heights to Sunset Park and Chinatown. RCCC is deeply committed to serving AAPI clients. Harry brings both lived experience as an Asian American and specialized clinical training to address the unique mental health challenges Asian American New Yorkers face — including intergenerational trauma, racial trauma, model minority myth pressure, family dynamics shaped by cultural silence, and the intersection of AAPI identity with LGBTQ+ experience. We work with clients across diverse Asian communities including Chinese American, Filipino American, Vietnamese American, Korean American, Japanese American, South Asian American, and multiracial Asian clients throughout New York.
The easiest way to start is to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. During that call, we'll hear a little about what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and get a sense of whether we're the right fit — no commitment, no pressure. If you prefer, you can also reach us directly at 619.363.4674. We typically respond to all inquiries within one to two business days.
